Bravado Spice Co: Spicy Spotlight

We're excited to introduce you to one of our newest additions to the Hot Sauce Depot lineup: Bravado Spice Co.! Bravado Spice's headquarters is located south of us down in Houston, and each bottle of their sauce features the GO TEXAN logo, which lets you know that you're about to enjoy an authentic, made-in-Texas product.

Bravado Spice started when founders, Jeremiah Tallerine and James Nelson, noticed that there weren’t many options in their local stores for all-natural, bold-flavored hot sauces. They began combining unique and captivating flavors and then tested them out on friends and family. As luck would have it, people loved it. They emptied their saving accounts and started a company, with no previous business experience. Thus, Bravado Spice was born with the mantra: Flavor first, heat second.

James, who has been referred to as the culinary mastermind behind their sauce recipes, explains that their sauces rely on bold and delicious combinations: “Our products cater to people who love to cook and aren’t just there to kick up boring food.”

For someone who is just starting to get into hot sauces, James recommends trying their Pineapple and Habanero Hot Sauce. He says, “It’s the perfect combination of spicy, sweet, and tangy, and it’s incredibly versatile in the kitchen.” However, experienced chiliheads may be looking for something with more heat, and Bravado Spice has you covered there as well.

“For the heat lover, I’d steer them towards our Ghost Pepper and Blueberry Hot Sauce,” he advises. “Its strong kick combined with its unique flavor profile is sure to satisfy even the more hardcore chilihead.”

If you love pickles, you’re also in for a treat because Bravado Spice is starting to produce small batches of Chili and Garlic Pickles. Additionally, a Scorpion Pepper and Raspberry sauce is in the works, which James promises won’t be disappointing in the heat department. But as always, the main focus will be on the sauce’s flavor, and painstakingly finding that impeccable balance between each ingredient. We’re hoping to start carrying these gems when they become available sometime later in the year, and we’ll keep you posted on when we get them in stock.

In the meantime, check out all their current flavors here. We have them on sale with special pricing through the end of March, so you have no excuse not to try them. Seriously, with flavors like Jalapeno and Green Apple or Pineapple and Habanero, what are you waiting for?
